hi there, i'm cereal! i'm currently hyperfixating on music, virtual reality, linguistics, and rhythm games
back when i was living in Portugal, i used to play percussion in a philharmonic marching band, then later in a traditional guitar-oriented band in college. i also make silly electronic music in Reaper. i play upright and guitar bass, accordion, guitar, uke, drums & percussion, and the recorder. my goal is to learn as many instruments as i can :3
i discovered osu! in 2019, which led me to the greater rhythm games scene. i ended up switching to Etterna as my main mania client, and later got to try a DDR cab for the first time. my interest in rhythm games peaked after watching planet clue's video on Beatmania, and i ended up purchasing my first dedicated rhythm controller: a JKOC for IIDX.
while waiting to get my hands on it, as i couldn't get the package while living abroad, i made a custom IIDX controller from a cardboard box and a bunch of arcade buttons, and bought a DJ Hero controller as well. i've also learned how to do a Santroller mod on two Guitar Hero controllers. i'm not too bad at Beat Saber but i haven't touched it in a while.
the fun truly began when i moved back to where i'm currently living, and found out about an organization that manages a small arcade, exclusively for rhythm games. i got myself pumped once again for Beatmania IIDX, and thus i've been practicing at home (P2 side, this time!). if you're around the Parisian region, check them out at lelap.in
